Gildan Esprit de She is the nation’s premiere races series for women. I was excited to run in this high energy 5K/10K when it expanded to my hometown of Columbus this year, but I couldn’t resist the opportunity to use my digital influence for good and give back to the community as a brand ambassador instead.Esprit de She events mix camaraderie with competition, offering a race for every pace and passion. Active women across the USA are invited to join a variety of 5K/10K runs, duathlons and triathlons. Whether you want to get in shape, set a good example for your kids, or challenge yourself to reach a new personal best, you will join a community of women united by a desire to celebrate fitness and fun, sisterhood and strength; taking strides to live a healthy lifestyle beyond the finish line.Runners, joggers and walkers alike rallied together for a Thursday evening run followed by a fitness-inspired “happy hour.” We enjoyed healthy eats and energetic tunes while loading up on fashionable freebies. We indulged in a Signature Champagne Bubbly Bar and Panasonic Beauty Bar offering complimentary massages and nail painting. Women are treated to a designer experience through pampering at this lifestyle market of epic proportions! Not only is this event a blast to attend, it also supports the local Girls On The Run charity, inspiring young girls to be healthy and confident to realize their unlimited potential. At the end of the race, Gildan presents the organization with a check to fund girls from 3rd to 8th grade to be a part of an empowering program, preparing them to run a 5K while recovering their self-esteem. The aim of Girls on the run is to unleash confidence through accomplishment while establishing a lifetime appreciation of health and fitness.I was lucky enough to have the most inspiring woman in my life, my mama, join me in this day. As a race participant or volunteer you are treated to a stylish commemorative tank or tee! We were able to write notes to inspire today’s Girls on the Run to be tomorrow’s women of strength.
The location along the Scioto Mile in Columbus was perfect for a warm end of summer night.
And they’re off! Good luck ladies! A variety of healthy food was provided at the race finish to refuel: turkey wraps, hummus and pita, fresh fruit, and water and ice cold water and gatorade to rehydrate. To celebrate your effort, all participants are awarded a medal at the end of the race. Ceremonies are held for top finishers overall and in each age group. Girls and women of all ages are welcome! So what are you waiting for? Invite your girlfriends, your sisters, your mom, your aunts, your grandmothers.
