Now don’t get me wrong, with over 300 islands, 700 sprawling miles of coastline and the friendliest locals on Earth, you have a lot to offer the world. Fiji it’s not you, it’s me.You have a lot of potential with your lush natural beauty, straight out of a postcard. But your lack of wildlife turned me right off. Where are the monkeys, exotic birds and tropical fish? The abundance of weddings and honeymooners left my single self feeling less than adequate. The luxury resorts were overpriced and void of the adventure I’ve come to know and love. Because who wants to sit basking at a pool all day?
Sure, you do boast bragging rights for winning best in travel for 2016, but for Americans seeking a tropical holiday destination, is the 20 hour flight worth it, when we have Mexico and the Caribbean in close proximity? I think we should go our separate ways before one of us gets hurt. While Fiji didn’t exactly tickle my fancy, if you are in the market for a tranquil, romantic island getaway, secluded from the rest of the world, Fiji is for you! Dig your toes into the warm white sand, and sip a cocktail overlooking the stunning azure waters of this Pacific paradise.
Whether visiting Nadi, Mamanuca Islands, the Coral Coast, you can quickly travel from one island to the next by helicopter or small plane to get a taste of all Fiji has to offer. Disconnect from the stresses of every day life, you’re on island time now!
Fiji, while the chances of seeing each other again are slim to none, we both know you deserve better. I hope you are able to find someone else out there who completes you in all the right ways.
