Hello and welcome to Round 6 of Would You Rather: Travel Edition! Welcome your host Shane, recently returned from two years down under, she brought back an accent and a bit of an attitude 😉 Now let’s play!
WOULD YOU RATHER…
Tour all the vineyards OR all the breweries OR all the distilleries in the world?
Give me all the vino! I seek out wineries everywhere I go. Canada, Australia, New Zealand, you name it… I love the taste and learning about the viticulture and oenology (the growing and harvesting of the grape and wine making process). My next trip in the States will be a roadtrip down the West Coast to visit Napa Valley!
Take a Contiki or Topdeck tour all planned out for you, with 20-something companions or travel solo and have to rely on yourself?
Next month I am off on an whirlwind 18 country tour of Europe, packed into 5 adventure-crammed weeks. Since this is my first time to Europe (gasp! how do I call myself a travel blogger) I want to get a taste of everything to decide which countries I really love to return to for an extended period.
For a person you loved deeply, would you be willing to move to a distant country OR would you stay where your friends and family are?
I would never, and I repeat never, up and leave for a man. Family will always be there, even when the men aren’t. I struggled hard with a long distance relationship from Australia. Never. Again.
For a weekend getaway, stay in Airbnb OR go camping?
Is glamping an option? 😉 I am an extreme advocate for Airbnb. I’ve had a better experience than any hotel would ever give me at a fraction of the price, and tons of local knowledge.
Pack too much and have to pay excess fees OR too little and risk forgetting an essential?
I am known for forgetting all of the important items (cash, hairbrush, sunscreen) and remembering to pack 10 rompers, 3 fedoras, and 7 bikinis. #priorities I have however gotten nabbed hundred of dollars at the airport on discount airlines that only allow 15 pounds (!). I begin to wonder if budget airlines are even worth it, when I can’t even get a soft drink on the plane without paying an arm and a leg?!Be guaranteed access to heaven OR live an extra 100 years?
As a non-practicing Catholic, I’m obligated to answer heaven. If that’s where I’m going to spend the rest of forever, better make it good.
Work a minimum wage job for the rest of your life OR live in the wilderness for the rest of your life?
To be honest, I’ve never worked a minimum wage job, because I’ve always worked corporate internships in between my college years. I would love to go off the grid a bit and do my own thing, uninhibited from humans, but perhaps not my entire life.
Spend the day there with a thief OR a beggar?
If I was in a new place, I would rather spend a day with a beggar, who was open and honest about their circumstances instead of a manipulative thief. It would be interesting to hear the beggars stories and how they are able to function (or not) in the world.
Not be able to shower for 7 days OR not be able to brush your teeth for 3 days?
I can not stand going one night without brushing my teefers. Wake up feeling like I have socks on the pearly whites. And I curse myself when I forget to brush after a night of drinking. I may be smelly with greasy hair after not showering for a week, but at least I won’t have to taste my own rank breath.
For $5,000, stay overnight in a haunted insane asylum OR ride a broken wooden rollercoaster?
We are talking two totally different scaries here. I have no problem with horror flicks and haunted houses. (My dad started us on them at 4 years old, much to my mother’s dismay). Roller coasters on the other hand, make my stomach churn.
Have unlimited, speedy wifi OR unlimited, passionate sex?
Do I really have to choose?! As a traveling blogger (where wifi can be spotty), I’d have to go with the wifi. I don’t need a man to make me happy 😀
Everyone thinks your life sucks but it’s actually awesome OR everyone thinks you life is shitty but it’s actually good?
I honestly don’t care enough about what others think about me at this point in my life. That wasn’t always the case, I guess it comes with age. When friends back home get jealous of my gallivanting lifestyle and *wish* they had my money and flexibility, I tell them you too can make it a reality if you put your heart and soul into it!
