The world is bigger than we could ever possibly imagine, and it’s scary to think we will never even scratch the surface in this lifetime. Even if we do travel to the same places, we see the world through different eyes, creating a unique experience. As I dive head first into travel, I am inspired by each of your adventures and am starting Sonderlust Secrets as a series showcasing this. Interested in being featured?Have you gone somewhere and immediately thought to yourself: “I’m home. This is where I want to always be”?Well, I have, and this occured when I went to the South West side of Australia, to the beautiful town of Margaret River. Never in my life have I felt so at home, that I fit in perfectly, like I was destined to live here some day. The feeling was indescribable and I can’t wait to go back to beautiful Margs.I could go on forever talking about why I fell so in love, but some of the things I loved most about Margs, is how beautiful everything is. Wherever I looked, my eyes were rewarded with beautiful sights of tall green trees, beautiful plants and flowers, friendly people walking there equally friendly dogs and the smell of fresh, earthiness is always in the air. Whenever I’d venture off past town, I’d see beautiful rivers surround by a green forest filled with birds and kangaroos hopping about. It truly was magical and reminded me of my favorite childhood book, ‘The Enchanted Forest’ by Enid Blyton. If you love beautiful clean water, shells, surfing and amazing views, then Gnarabup Beach in the Margaret River Region is the place to visit! There is a boat ramp you can fish off, Surfing and Stand-up Paddle Boarding lessons are available, it has a beautiful beach path you can go for a walk along and it’s perfect for enjoying en evening picnic at and watching the sunset.
Not one place I went to didn’t leave me in awe from how wonderful it was. “Where there is love, there is life”, and this is the perfect way I can describe how I feel when I’m in Margaret River.
