Are you pulling your hair out deciding what you want be when you grow up? Struggling to choose one area to devote your life to is frustrating, and all to familiar to me. At the same time, I know I am not alone feeling lost, stuck, and overwhelmed at this age, still trying to “figure it out.”
How are we supposed to know what we want to be before we’ve had a chance to live life? Before we’ve been in situations that stretch and challenge us as a person?
Good news: you don’t need to know.
I am a woman of many passions. I am wild about travel, photography, and sharing my experience with others through blogging. I gain energy from planning trips, discovering foreign places, and meeting new people. Many mornings I wake up 30 minutes before my alarm, and instead of grunting and rolling over, I leap out of bed with a cup of coffee and start writing for the blog.
I am also passionate about empowering fellow women. My Operation Beautiful series and involvement in various organizations around my community showcase this. I feel this is a space where I can make a difference and add value.
I spent my first 4 years as a “lifestyle” blogger before deciding last month that I wanted to dive head first into the travel niche. I would love nothing more than to be able to travel 24/7 and make a living. With my current 9 to 5, this is impossible but I am realizing I am far too creative for the corporate world.
The question I ask myself: Is it possible to do it all without spreading yourself thin and diluting your worth? I think it is a healthy sign to be uncertain.
Despite the travel direction I am taking my space of the internet, I will continue Operation Beautiful series every Sunday. Why? Because I love helping women appreciate the simple things about them, that add up and make them truly beautiful.
This project is about your talents, your secret hidden abilities, your amazing personalities. Those quirks which make you, uniquely you. If you feel vulnerable, insecure, or hesitant to send in an entry, don’t be! We’re in this together. It will hopefully make you realize a few things about yourself.
I am a multi-passionate. And that’s okay.
What does this mean exactly?
It means allowing myself to explore all of my passions. It means being flexible to change my mind and adapt as needed. Dreams don’t have to die, but they do sometimes have to change. Embrace it. It means following my heart and intuition, channeling my energy into those things that get me excited to share with others.
I’ve come to terms with the fact that I will never be the picture perfect travel blogger, jetsetting from one majestic place to another. And I’m not going to pretend that I can. I won’t write every single day about out of this world adventures. I will mix in a bit of real life here and there. I hope you will stick with me through this journey.
