Since my Transparency Series has offered such great feedback recently, I’ve decided to make it a weekly occurence, every Tuesday. What is it, you ask? Real people, real stories. Sharing openly and honestly. Plain and simple. Some days it will be my own inner reflections, other times it will feature women I find inspirational. My own mother, who has been the most inspirational person in my life, will be making a guest appearance very soon. And once I get the ball rolling on this, I will make a shout-out to all of my lovely readers to be featured, so keep an eye out for that! I hope you are ready to take this leap with me!
Ladies, we’re living in the age of powerful women. In the grand, historical scheme of things, it really wasn’t that long ago that women were fighting for their right to vote. Today, females match and even surpass their male counterparts. Whether you’re studying in college, hunting for a post-grad job, or climbing the “corporate ladder,” you’re part of one of the first generations that truly praises motivation, ambition, and intelligence in women. We don’t face some the same kind of stereotypes that our great-grandmothers, grandmas, or even mothers did. The sky is the limit for us.
Anyone who knows me, knows how important being a strong, independent woman is to me. I surely got this mindset from my mother. Now this doesn’t mean I don’t desire companionship and dream of an enduring marriage, it just means I don’t need a man to take care of me. And most importantly, I don’t have to rely on a man for my happiness and sense of self-worth.
